At its regular board meeting held on Friday, October 29, 2010, the Shee Atiká Board of Directors chose shareholder Joshua Horan of Sitka to succeed Marta Ryman upon her retirement. The following press release was issued today following their selection.
The Board of Directors of Shee Atiká, Incorporated is pleased to announce that effective October 29, 2010, Joshua Horan of Sitka has been appointed to Shee Atiká’s Board to succeed Marta Ryman. Shee Atiká is the corporation established under the Alaska Native Claims Settlement Act (ANCSA) for the Alaska Natives historically residing in and around Sitka, Alaska.
Dr. Kenneth Cameron, Shee Atiká’s Board Chair and President/CEO, said “We had many fine shareholder candidates for appointment to our Board. Among these candidates, Josh Horan stood out. Josh has been involved with our corporation for many years beginning when he worked in our Sitka headquarters as a college intern. After he graduated from college, he returned to Sitka and continued his involvement by serving on the Scholarship Committee of our educational trust. He is presently the Chair of that committee, which is particularly satisfying because the educational trust provided funds for his college studies.”
