Lillian Nielsen Young

Kaax’áxooskaa yoo xat duwaasaakw, Luknax Shaa aya xat. My Tlingit name is Kaax’axooskaa; I am a woman of the Coho clan. I am very proud of my Tlingit heritage. My parents are Ethel “Daasdiyaa” Makinen and the late Albert Nielsen, Sr. My late grandparents are Charlie and Annie Joseph and Peter and Dora Nielsen. I married Kyle Young in 1988 and am a very proud mother of Kyla and Joshua Young. I am active with the Noow Tlein Dancers formed in 1980 under the direction of my grandfather, Charlie Joseph and now directed by my mother, Ethel.

I am also very proud to say that I have been with Shee Atiká since June, 1989!

I began as Shee Atiká’s Administrative Assistant. After administrating all aspects of shareholder services, I naturally progressed as Shee Atiká’s Shareholder Services Manager in January, 1992. I handle all aspects of shareholder services including administration of all stock transfers such as gifting, death of a shareholder, name changes, etc. I always have an open door policy for assisting shareholders with many documents, including but not limited to completing Testamentary Disposition forms which is a “Will” for your shares, direct deposits, distribution verifications, address changes, etc. I also do home visits for the elderly or handicapped shareholders.

I have administered the Shee Atiká Benefits Trust (SABT) Scholarship Program since the program’s inception in 1989. This program assists with scholarships for undergraduate and graduate/masters students, professional/career development, regular or concentrated vocational/technical training, cultural & heritage study, short term training, etc. Under SABT is our funeral benefit program. I work closely with shareholder’s family members and the funeral homes or vendors of services associated with a shareholder’s death.

Your corporation has an open door policy so please feel free to stop by to ask questions, to check on the completion of all of your important shareholder forms or to just say hello.
Gunalcheesh!
